Extended reality

Accessibility

Thanks to the archEOtech project at Livelet we are introducing VR and AR

Archaeological museums are commonly thought of as places where modern technology is left behind to discover ancient technology. But, if you think about it, visitors come with their cell phones and the habits of modern technology, eager to share their experiences (Paardekooper, 2019).

The mission of Livelet Open Air Museum has always been to tell the story of daily life in a prehistoric pile-dwelling village, building bridges between the past, present and future. Thanks to ARCHeoTECH we want to virtually bring the village back to life and let our visitors experience new exciting experiences.

The aim of ARCHeoTECH is to offer new services in digital format, to adapt some existing spaces and to adopt new museum management systems also with a view to better accessibility.
From now on, therefore, the contents also pass through new technologies, without however replacing guided tours, demonstrations of ancient technology and practical workshops.

During the Virtual Reality experience, it is possible to wake up inside a Neolithic pile-dwelling and carry out some daily activities. The experience takes place in a dedicated station, with the help of dedicated devices and with the assistance of an educator, therefore it is activated by reservation for schools or organized groups and during some special events.

The Augmented Reality experience, on the other hand, is always active and allows you to try fun effects using your smartphone.

The ARCHeoTECH project was created with the contribution of the PNRR, M1C3 - INVESTMENT 3.3 - Support for cultural and creative sectors for innovation and digital transition.
